Reviews: Celeste Express (1)
“A magical adventure, with a brilliant message on the importance of kindness!”

After ruining her brother’s birthday party, the King sends Celeste to the run down post office as punishment. After living as a spoilt princess, Celeste must learn to work hard and to care for others. This was a superb read! I really enjoyed the plot and the world’s magic was fun and unique - the stardust dust bunnies being a highlight. Their world being made up of lots of small planets within flying distance was a great setting, along with the characters met being unique and drawn beautifully. Slater’s illustrations brought this story to life and enhanced its magic (I loved the Kings star shaped beard!). The ideas Celeste and Podge came up with to make the post office run again were inventive, and watching their relationship develop was so fun. Celeste realising she has been selfish her whole life and work to turn that around and make amends was heartwarming to read, and is a brilliant message for younger readers. I would say this book is for the younger end of middle grade, from 7-11, but could definitely be enjoyed by older children and adults alike!
