In it's friendly and personal presentation it brings the author's warmth and intimate relationship with each minster or cathedral to our favourite fireside chair. The rich inviting detail, whether in word or illustration, has urged me to leave the comfort of the fireside and go out and see for myself. He is to be congratulated and highly commended for the tireless effort he has made in transposing centuries of cathedral history into book form (which should now be the Third Testament of every family Bible) all for our edification, pleasure and delight.
