I saw this new novel getting mentions in our local paper, The Argus, and was compelled to see what Brighton's artists were offering on the lit front. This surprised me, as a book based so closely on such specific location might not travel well. But this was full of stories that do travel and translate to other cities, everywhere! It is a charming read. Witty and frank. Dense in colourful characters like the stern Fairly Darling and the appealing Cheese-hall Spy, you get whisked away into this world of OURS, on the coast! The prose is smooth and this makes for a good read whether you are a Brightonian and can see these happenings in the various venues, or simply relate to these life lessons! Give it a go!

Brighton Babylon is a poignant, funny collection of Brighton based adventures seen through the eyes of our intrepid reporter P-head. Surrounded by his diverse group of friends, work colleagues, neighbours and the unendingly supportive Mrs, Frau, Jarrette delivers a tour de force piece of writing which transports you right down to the rock strewn sea front in the shadow of West Pie and introduces us to some of the amazing characters that we all know make the most interesting places to live what they are. I felt voyeuristic all the way through but had to continue my curtain twitching to the end. Sharp, emotional, funny and thoroughly enjoyable Brighton Babylon will leave you longing for a day at the seaside.
