Reviews: Brick (2)
“A gritty & gripping crime thriller”
(Paperback)
by Deb Day
I have read this author before & this book has been sat on my tbr pile for a good while. That was a huge mistake, I should’ve read it earlier so guess what has gone on my wish list! This is the first of the Inspector Braddick series. Bryn, a 14 year old lad, is out walking his dog when he is subjected to an unprovoked attack. He retaliates & a murder investigation ensues. His family become the target of a sustained terror campaign & key members of a notorious crime family begin to fall. How are these connected & why was Bryn attacked? Set in & around Liverpool, this is a graphic & gritty tale with violence aplenty. It isn’t for the faint hearted & if you’re easily offended I’d steer clear, but I loved it. Written at a breathless pace & I cannot wait to read more of the series. Highly recommended.
“2 days was all it took!”

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Conrad Jones at his best once again. A full book with a character who made a brief appearance in one of the Det. Ramsay series of books, and if you haven't read them, you must! This book however had me on the edge of my seat all the way through, it took me only 2 days to read it, damn work and the need for sleep interrupting my reading. If you enjoy Jones, you will love this. Thrilling, tense, dark and moody as always, but a damned good read. Buy it, make a pot of coffee, sit down and brace yourself. You won't regret it!
