I really don't rehash details of the plot in my reviews- you can read that in the above product review- but I will say that Paretsky's rather tongue in cheek nod to the Twilight phenomenon rather amused me. So apart from that plot mention all I have to say really is that after all this time the VI Warshawski series still steam ahead with the usual skill of the author. She is one of the few modern set crime writers I still read- they all seem to be so much more violent then they used to, be especially the male authors- no it's not some sort of femininist rant- maybe I'm just getting soft in my maturing years. So if you want a thoughtful crime novel with a message dealing with issues that will make you cross, the issue not the novel, then Paretsky is one author who really won't let you down.
