I think Boom is a surprisingly good book that always leaves the reader hanging in the air after every chapter. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to anyone. Oliver, age 11

This as a good book, probably not one of the best I have read, but a good book all the same. The mysterious man in the coffee shop really drew me in, and the invasion of Jimbo's flat did too. I think that 9 to 12 years old would really enjoy this book, as it has around the right vocabulary for them. It would also be a really good book to read in class. Isobel, age 10.

Boom is about two schoolboys who discover that two of their teachers seem to be in a mysterious society that speaks a kind of Gobbledegook code language. I didn't really like it because I'm not really interested in the sort of book it is and it was supposed to be funny but I didn't find the sort of jokes it told funny. I think this book is probably aimed at a boy who likes mad, comical adventures. Imogen, age 14
