Reviews: Boom! (8)
“Very exciting with a well thought-out plot”
(Hardback)
'Boom' is a very good book. It is very exciting and has a brilliant plot. It is about a boy called Jimbo who is having quite a bad life at school. He and his best friend Charlie decide to spy on the teachers, to see if Jimbo is going to be expelled. But they aren't talking about the expulsion and after they finish, two of the teachers stay back and start talking to each other in an alien labguage.
Then the book starts to become an adventure into a different world and you have to work out the mystery as the plot goes on. I like the way Mark Haddon suddenly turns a human into an alien.
My favourite character is Charlie, because he is very adventurous and brave. This is a very well thought-out book and I would recommend it to people who like adventure and science fiction - just like me!

“Hilarious book with great characters”
(Hardback)
When every day people like policemen, waiters, teachers and normal people like you see in the streets have a notebook with strange letters in, and an ability to cut metal with with a glowing finger, you'll be eager to find out more just like best mates Jim and Charlie. But when his friend is kidnapped, Jim is desperate to find Charlie.
I think it's any child's dream to find out your teacher is an alien and to go to another planet. It's a hilarious book with great characters.

“I was rolling on the floor with laughter”
(Hardback)
Absolutely hilarious. I was rolling on the floor with laughter. This book is a real must for everyone 7-11. Follow the narrator and his annoying sister Becky on a series of adventures that keep on getting stranger and stranger.
So enjoy reading...

“It was extremely funny”
(Hardback)
I loved BOOM! It was extremely funny. The chapter titles really caught my attention and were funny. The wrist bonds were crazy! I really liked this book! My favourite character was Becky because she was so tough at the begining then softened during the book. Everyone should read this book!

“Great for children who like comedy and adventure”
(Hardback)
I liked all of the book and thought it was very adventurous! The monkey-spiders are so cool but sound kind of weird! My favourite part of the book was when Jimbo finds his best friend on Plonk.
I think that this book would be suitable for 9 to 12 year olds and is a very, very good book. I would recommend it for children who like comedy and adventure! Great book!!!
