For years I have collected books on Bonsai, and always found them lacking in Technique for the beginner, in particular in regard to the right pots for your trees, including whether the pot should have a masculine or feminine feel. I was delighted that it covered Chinese and Korean styles as well as the traditional Japanese ones. Pruning and wiring are covered simply and in an easily followed format. Presentation is also covered, as well as step by step instructions for many of the less regularly seen techniques which can leave the beginner baffled. or worse, a dead tree. There are many step by steps covered for a variety of trees and styles. This book covers all the steps in a user-friendly way, and hopefully will help me and others to understand the reasoning and methods of caring for bonsai. Absolutely First Class!
