“Alarming”

I knew the Nazis were a bad bunch but this has given me a whole new perspective on how they operated. The use of drugs seems to have been rife. The way in which they were developed and tested is yet another murky chapter in history. Adolf Hitler, it seems, was propped up by more than just a desperate and adoring nation. Eye opener.
“Interesting reading”

I'm not sure how much of a game changer book is for WW2 history but it is certainly interesting and worth a go. Ohler uses some kind of lame puns as chapter heads (Sieg High etc). This one has divided historians it seems but I'm not sure the author deserved some of the accusations that were leveled at him (apologist for Hitler etc). Decent overall but in the bigger picture of the war considering all the crazy and awful things that happened the fact that a lot of Nazis were off their box on class A's didn't shock me all that much However as a piece of research it seems solid and worthwhile.
