Reviews: Blindsided (1)
“Outstanding and unique”
(Hardback)
by Bookfan
Most sports autobiographies cover familiar ground. Michael Lynagh's book merely references some truly great moments in a wonderful career, all against the backdrop of his surviving a major stroke in 2012. It's this wide-screen perspective that separates "Blindsided" from the many sports men and women's books that come out each year. Nicely written, with no attempt made to overcomplicate things, it really is a unique look into the mind of not only a great rugby player but also a great human being. The stroke survival chapters make for harrowing reading obviously ( the man was close to death), but ultimately your left with nothing but admiration for a life well-lived so far. Outstanding
