This is an utterly gripping thriller. Set in Amsterdam and Africa it covers a subject rarely touched by fiction, meaning it is a book that really stands out from other thrillers.The characters are well formed, believable and again, not the run-of-the mill 'heros' as often in your average thriller. The story starts on a plane - I was hooked within the first few pages. Part of the book is as a diary which is beautifully written but also is so descriptive you know you would not want to be there yourself.This is a real page turner - buy a copy & you won't be able to put it down until you finish it!

This book was so gripping it was certainly one I had great difficulty in putting down. It had such unexpected twists and turns that it held me riveted through to the very last page. As a first novel I certainly feel that it should be nominated for a writer's prize for thrillers. If this is the quality of novel that Nick can turn out on his first outing, roll on the next and the next and the next.
