Reviews: Birdman (9)
“A cracking read!”
(Paperback)
I read the Walking Man books before I read Birdman and didn't think it could be better, but it is! The story is really gripping, I truly couldn't stop reading! The characters are so well written and developed - I understand Caffrey better now, a very complex character! You won't be disappointed in this book!
“excellent read!”
(Paperback)
This book was gruesome and horrific but brilliant! Couldn't put it down. Mo Hayder is a fantastic author and highly recommended!
“Birdman”
(Paperback)
I read a lot of Crime/Thriller books but this was really amazing. I couldn't put it down. I took it on holiday with me and started reading it on the plane which is in itself unsual as I find it hard to read in that environment. It was absolutley gripping and had me on the edge of my seat and sent chills down my spine. I don't normally flinch at anything but this was an exception to the rule. So well witten that I felt as though I was watching a film, I could see it all happening in front of my eyes. When I arrived at my destination I passed it on to my friend who loves this sort of story. She told me she also couldn't put it down, her normal thing was to finish a chapter before putting a book down but she found she kept turning the pages. This story holds you all the way, it a must read for all fans of this genre. I will be reading The Treatment and hoping that it will be just as gripping
“An absolute classic of the genre”
(Paperback)
This is, without doubt, a classic of the genre. Mo Hayder pushed boundaries like no other author. This is a book truly like no other- not for the faint hearted, but despite its brutality and graphic violence, it is intelligent, beautifully written, with a wonderful and atmospheric sense of place, and truly believable and convincingly realised characters. I was very saddened to hear of this authors death; not least, in the words of Val McDermid, because of all the books that will remain unwritten
“Birdman,it's scarry”
(Paperback)
Very scarry very well written
