Reviews: Better Off Dead (24)
“Disappointed”
(Paperback)
I, like many, have read all the previous books. This has been the worst by far.
I didn’t really feel I was a part of the story. Normally I can visualise the town, its buildings, the weather even, but in this book I felt it was empty.
Jack seemed out of character, not even any love interest. The plot was weak and predictable. I normally can’t put his books down but sad to say I couldn’t wait to finish it, sadly for the wrong reasons.
Like others have said the short sentences make for poor reading, it doesn’t flow as previous ones.
Will I buy the next one? Probably.
“Worst Reacher ever”
(Hardback)
I really didn’t enjoy this book. Aside from the flaky storyline, it’s taken short sentences to the extreme. Why use commas? When you can. Put full stops. At inappropriate points. I’ve read every Reacher but if this is an example of what’s to come then he really would be Better Off Dead.
“Disappointed!”
(Hardback)
Sorry its just a rewrite of all Lee Child books. I have been looking forward to a new release but this was just all too familiar!
“Absolutely awful”
(Paperback)
When Andrew Child learns how to construct a sentence there may be a reason for buying another Jack Reacher book. From the preview of his next book it doesn’t look as though he has. Extremely disappointing after so many years of looking forward to the next book.
