Reviews: Before the Killing (2)
“Great Time Travelling Thriller”
(Paperback)
by Kevin Cannon
Cassie returns from college and the next day her boyfriend becomes the chief suspect for a murdered girl found on a local beach. All the evidence points to his guilt and Cassie refuses to give him an alibi for the evening. Jump forward a number of years and Cassie is back home when a meteorite falls to earth in her yard. A spark from the hot rock causes Cassie to discover that she can travel back in time. Using this new 'gift' she plans to find out exactly what happened on the night of the murder. An interesting concept and a novel use of the traditional time travel theme. The plot is not overly complicated but still packs a twist or two before the murderer is finally unmasked.
“A crime thriller/Sci-fi fusion that works!”

This is the first novel I have read by Marjory Kaptanoglu. I got hooked on the crime element but thrown by the time travelling. It felt so out of place at the start of the novel (if I had read the synopsis before reading it I would have been prepared) but as the plot progressed it soon became part of the norm. A very clever crime thriller with twist and turns along the way. Very likeable characters. There were times when I was on the edge of my seat and needed to keep reading. My true score is 4.5* I would happily recommend this. Thank you to Booksirens and Marjorie Kaptanoglu for my ARC ebook.
