This was a brilliant read, very well written giving a detailed and inspired insight into one of the great composers. I bought this as a gift but am now getting a copy for myself, John Suchet has compiled his knowledge of Beethoven and coveyed it to the audience

John Suchets book gives a fascinating insight into the life and temprament of possibly the worlds greatest ever composer. How could such a seemingly disfunctional person as Beethovan produce the fantastic music he did? The book is extremely well written and can't be put down! Its also very well produced and illustrated with a 'coffee table' feel to it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is no too academic and yet has plenty of substance. It does what is says - reveals the man.

Each year I purchase a book wrap it up and read it at Christmas. I will be reading John Suchet`s book then. The wait makes for more enjoyment My product ratings therefore have nothing to do with Suchet`s Beethoven
