“BALTIMORE BOOK 1”

When I was looking for a romantic historical book to read I was tempted to reach for a Jane Austen novel, after all, it was a while since I had read anything and a safe bet is always an easy choice. However, knowing the ending to all of Austen’s classics did make me wonder about the last time I read something different. So, striving for change, I picked up a copy of a new novel Baltimore. I immediately found myself around a campfire in the heartland of this idyllic southern Ireland coast, dancing with the joyful inhabitants and a vivacious Kirsten who is happily being wooed by young Daemon. The dancing is shortlived when unexpected visitors come ashore and change the lives of the inhabitants of Baltimore forever. Baltimore is a deeply moving, beautifully paced and, thought-provoking story, with evocative, dramatic imagery which takes you on a voyage into the unknown, and just like its characters, you begin the search for answers. Daemon Quirk, full of naïve passion and wit, with the kind of loyalty you want in a hero. Torn apart from his true love Kirsten and thrown into an unknown world without any knowledge of her destiny or his own. This feels like one of the great love stories. The voyage is long and full of surprises. An epic tale where we see different worlds and ideals clash and force a tidal wave of twists and turns. I found everything I wanted in a book and I already have book 2! I can't wait to find out how It all turns out and already looking forward to Baltimore 3. Maureen.
