“Great game, lots of fun for all the family!”

It took us a while to understand the full rules of the game, but once we got the hang of it we were hooked! It was a really interesting and exciting game - we played the 2 player version to start with and then the following week played with family members too to make a total team of 4 players. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to spend a weekday or weekend evening! We award this game 4 out of 5 stars only due to the understanding of the rules - which took us a little while! Definitely stick with it though and you will have an enjoyable game!
“Simple idea, well executed”
(Game)
This is a great game for families and board game enthusiasts who perhaps aren’t quite ready for Terraforming Mars, but want something that is not primarily based on chance like Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit.
This game is simple when compared to many games on the market (it doesn’t come with a rule book that you will need to spend an hour reading - it’s only a leaflet). I can understand if you’re not familiar with tactical games then the rules could take a little time to grasp, but if you’re familiar with something like Catan or Pandemic, this will be easy to grasp.
Its simplicity is what make it a recommended game and deserving of its accolades. You can approach tactically in different ways and there are even 2 games types without having to purchase expansions.
The games is very well made and the only reason I give one star less if because it feels “unfinished” with two of the five tile sets being without patterns; which is a shame as part of its charm is it’s beauty.
Although the box says a game is around 30 mins we managed to play a full game in as little as 15 minutes including set up when we didn’t stop to chat. Which is what makes this game great for a stop start gaming session. You can easily pause the game to eat or catch up and go back to it without having to refocus much at all. Perfect for family holidays and lazy weekends.
“Family strategy game”
(Game)
A beautifully designed game, that is lovely to look at if nothing else!
You select patterned tiles and place them strategically on the board to score points.
It was a little tricky to pick up but after a couple of practice runs it got very competitive, very quickly!
We played as a family with children aged 8 and 10. We all said that we would play this again. I can see this becoming a family favourite.
4 stars as the instructions are little overly complex.
“Captivating board game!”
(Game)
A very captivating and strategic tile-placement board game. Recommended for any board game enthusiasts for its elegant design, engaging gameplay, and beautiful components. The game comes with high-quality components, including vibrant, chunky tiles reminiscent of Portuguese azulejos, or decorative ceramic tiles. While luck plays a role in the availability of tiles, I like how this board game primarily rewards strategic thinking and careful planning.
