This is so different to anything we have played and we have no other games like this! Yes, you do need a minute to get your head around the rules but we just used an online tutorial and it was really easy to understand. Our youngest player was 9 and totally got everything. It took us around 30 minutes to complete the game and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all! A great addition to our collection of games!

As a family spanning across all generations from age 7 through to ages 65 we all enjoyed playing this game. The game pieces included are high quality - the 100 resin tiles are beautiful and perfect for tiling a palace. Love that there is opportunity to build strategy as the game builds and it introduced some interesting game play as it developed. The scoring can be tricky to start with but the rule book is clear and easy to follow. We loved this unique game and it makes for a colourful addition to the games shelf.

I am a bit of a board game fanatic so I was so excited to get Azul as I’d heard great things. It certainly lives up to expectations. The rules are a little confusing to start with but there are videos out there to help if needed but after the first game it all becomes clear. I’ve played with friends and family from ages 11 up to… let’s say ‘almost an octogenarian’ and we all loved it. I like that game play is different every time so varied playability is definitely there. It’s strategic with a bit of luck involved too and you can choose to play nicely or check out what others are doing to wreck their go!! It’s also a very attractive game. I love the coloured tiles!! Play is for 2-4 players and you get boards, tiles and even a cute tile bag included. It’s fast becoming my new favourite and I’d recommend this game to anybody!

Once we got our heads around scoring and counting down from the top line it became a lot easier, the game is absolutely beautiful the tiles and patterns are gorgeous. It becomes very addictive and we play over and over again. The more we play the more competitive we become trying to score more points before the game ends. The only downside to this game is the tile placing on the board as they don’t slot in anywhere a little knock to the table sends them moving

We really enjoyed this games, both as a family and then with adult friends too. It has some strategy but is also fun and light hearted.
