“Addictive and fun game!”

We really enjoyed playing this game, it gets better the more you play it as you learn to be more strategic. You select tiles to complete patterns and the aim of the game is to score the most points. Points are scored when there are no tiles left. Then a new round begins. Once a player completes a horizontal or vertical line the game ends. Then the scoring gets interesting as you can earn points in a variety of ways. Placing all of a colour or vertical/horizontal line formation. I played this with my family as an evening games night and with my children and partner too. It is highly addictive and a great game to play over and over. The board has 2 sides too so you can play an alternate game. The board and pieces are high quality and the contrasting tile patterns make it visually appealing.
“Strategic and Engaging”
(Game)

Azul is a “Portuguese mason” game for 2, 3 or 4 players, but the most interesting and exciting (for obvious strategic reasons) are the games with 3 or 4 players. Azul is a well-designed and enjoyable board game that is perfect for families and groups of friends. The game is easy to learn, but offers a surprising amount of depth and strategy. The game components are high quality, with beautiful tiles and a sturdy game board. The game mechanics are well thought out and each turn presents new challenges and opportunities for players to score points. The game play is fast-paced and exciting, with players making decisions about which tiles to place, which patterns to complete, and which penalties to incur. One of the things that I appreciate about Azul is that it is a game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The rules are simple enough for kids to understand, but the strategy is complex enough to keep adults engaged. The game is also moderately replayable, with different strategies to try. Overall, It's a well-designed and enjoyable game that is perfect for families and groups of friends. The game components are high quality and the game play is fast-paced and exciting. If you're looking for a new board game to add to your collection, I would definitely recommend giving Azul a try.
“Tile-tastic Startegic Board Game!”

The game components are high quality, with beautiful tiles and a sturdy game board. The game mechanics are well thought out, and each turn presents new challenges and opportunities for players to score points. Most points wins! The game play is fast-paced (approx 20-30 mins a game) and exciting, with players making decisions about which tiles to place, which patterns to complete, and which penalties to incur. The game is replayable, with different strategies to try each time. It's perfect to play as 2 players, but even better up to 4 players. Highly recommend this strategic competitive board game!
“Abstract Brilliance for All!”
(Game)

Azul is a beautiful abstract game with a lot of complexity for a very simple rules that is perfect for family and friends alike. Players will take turns drafting tiles from the central supply adding them to rows on the left hand side of their player board. At the end of every round every completed row on the left-hand side will transfer one of those tiles across to the main board, scoring points for tiles adjacent to that horizontally and vertically. Once someone has completed an entire horizontal row on the right hand size of their board the game ends and you tally final scoring with horizontal, vertical and set bonuses. Azul is an intriguing game with really wonderful tactile pieces with tricky decisions on every turn. Do I take the piece that I need or do I maybe gamble hoping that it’ll be there next round and take the tiles that I know my neighbour is desperate to finish their row with? I desperately need to collect all of those red ones, but the seven of them on that display which means I’m gonna have to drop to them down to take minus points, am I willing to take that? This is one of the main stays in my house, my wife and me love it at two players and it scales really well when the in-laws come round. Set to be in modern classic Azul has spawned a few other versions with different rule sets and different scoring mechanisms, but that still contain the drafting and placement theme that is core to the game brilliance. I fully recommend getting the expansion for the plastic trays it’s provides to hold the tiles in place and the alternative boards to change up the game once you are more familiar with it. Genuinely one of the best abstract games I have ever played. Perfect for the family and hard-core gamers alike with a lot of complexity and depth, but a very simple rule set.
“Bright, fun and challenging!!!”

I have honestly never played a game like Azul! It is so challenging however so fun and rewarding too! It definitely brought out my family's competitive side! The game pieces are beautiful and stunning and I love that you have something physical to play with and use! You definitely have to think quick and be aware of what other people are doing! This is now a family favourite of ours and one of our top 5 games! It was a bit confusing at the start but once you read the rules a few times and start playing it all just comes naturally and even little ones can play! My little girl is 5 years old and was getting the hang of it! We are always on the look out for more fun, quirky games we can play as a family and this is one of them! A fun, tile matching game with so many pretty pieces! Can't wait till the next family game night to play this again!
