Reviews: Ava Gardner (1)
“Interestingly good”
(Paperback)
A good read overall, but with an interesting twist. First part of the book is slightly laborious to read (a bit long and drawn-out; tends to digress from Ava herself onto other people) however, it's worth the wait and patience when you get past the first few chapters. In my opinion:
Good points/parts: Honest read, interesting person who is finally brought into the light alongside more spoken of celebs such as Marilyn Monroe, etc., Interesting to get to know more about Ava herself as a headstrong but all the same sensitive person.
Parts disliked/weaker points: Tends to portray Frank Sinatra as quite a weak and sort of pitiful person for Ava's love, which, even though he was obsessed with her, does tend to disappoint fans of both Sinatra and Gardner a bit as he is rarely portrayed as other books would suggest. Book also tends to digress slightly at times.
Overall rating: A very good book, very interesting and it's a sign of a good book when you don't want to put it down!!!
Enjoy!!!
