Reviews: Another You (1)
“A Thoroughly Good Read!”
(Paperback)
A thoroughly good read from an author new to me, but one I shall follow with interest from here on in!
Marie Johnson lives over the coastal pub she works in along with her estranged husband Stephen; his affairs having sounded time on their marriage. Marie and their son Jude are pitted against Stephen in daily battles over the running of the business. With celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of D-Day forthcoming, Marie looks forward to some light relief.
This is a very busy book with lots going on, several story threads to follow and I loved everything about it! It's extremely well-plotted, written in an easy, flowing style and kept me glued to my kindle throughout. There are plenty of surprises along the way and nothing is predictable. With wonderfully created characters, a strong plot, a gorgeous setting and even a bit of mystery along with a touch of romance (and, I have to mention, a very appealing dog) this one ticked all the boxes for me. I couldn't find fault even if I wanted to - and I don't! A truly lovely read, and one which rewards the reader with a sigh of satisfaction as everything is beautifully wrapped up in the last few pages. A fabulous read, thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommended. Try it and see! Totally worth all five stars.
