I found this book looking for books who had won the Pulizer prize for fiction and fell in love with the small synopsis I read of 'All the light we cannot see!" Very excitedly I waited for it to arrive and hyped it up in my mind, at first it didn't live up to this hype as it wasn't what I was expecting but slowly grew on me. The characters were beautiful as well as the setting and descriptions. I don't know when I fell head over heals for this book but I'm so glad I did! For me it was a hard read and took me a very long time which was weird since I'm usually a quick reader but it gave me the opportunity to really digest this amazing book fully. You wont regret reading this book and will be emotionally invested in Marie-Laure and Werner lives! The only words I can use to describe this book is 'absolutely Beautiful'

Great read , easy to follow as it jumps forward & back. Shorts chapters so easy - for me - to read when on short flights etc filling time .... Good charachters , read it you wont be disappointed. Any more will give away the story.

It is rare to find a modern novel bearing the depth and reality of the Russian classics with a unique twist of being told from the viewpoint of children. All the Light We Cannot See is a magnificently woven tale of two souls trapped in an unimaginable time in history. Marie-Laure and Werner form the two sides of one coin as it flips through innocence and into the malevolent world of war and societal expectations. Don't expect sugar coated endings, but the story is nonetheless moving with a satisfying departure. There are plenty of great novels detailing small facets and stories of the horrors of WWII, but this one is different simply because I wasn't sure whose side I was on. Who was evil? Who was really at fault? It reminded the reader of the true repercussions of war and the scars the youth of that time will carry as a result of naive actions. I will surely reread this one!

This book was one of those you can't put down, beautifully written, characters so well defined , & heart-breaking as to the effects war can have on the most innocent people. I didn't want it to end, as I didn't want to leave the characters behind. I am not going to reveal any of the plot, as that would spoil it for you other readers.! A really engrossing plot, where you are willing it to end the way YOU want it to!
