This book is not your usual read. It is made up of what the main character alson imaginesmight happen as well as what does actually happen. Interesting themes of love and addiction throughout. A wealth of characters including our four legged friends that ate key to the story. The characters are very visual and well described. The plot is interesting, but at times is hard to follow. The use of language is poetic and you really feel in the mind of the main character. The characyers are also very likeable and the characters of the dogs also add humour to the serious story lines. This is a young adult book but could be read by all and was a pleasant read over a few sittings. Thanks you author, publisher and Readers First in allowing me to read in return for a review.

This book has many good points. The characters are well written and interesting, they are not the big standard typical characters you might find in love stories. They feel like real people you could meet in everyday life. The final world is very well written and I think actually gives the message the whole book of trying to give as a stand alone short story. The multiverse element sounded very exciting and I was expecting a sliding doors kind of set up. I was disappointed in this element as the set up of the philosophy party seemed too staged....we already knew the message of the book was of how there can be different realities. I didn’t like the way it alternated between different options within one chapter and then different parts. I also was left frustrated by the other realities not going anywhere. Definitely worth a read but I think the multiverse element is a bit lacking. It leaves you thinking however about the ripple effect of small choices made. And the final part of definitely worth a read, a beautifully written section.

This is a very original concept well targeted at the YA audience although it probably has less appeal for adults who appreciate the YA genre. Adelaide is a teen who is struggling with her life since her world was badly affected by her brothers drug addiction, personally I think this aspect of her could have been explored in greater detail as the texts between her and her brother were very astute and insightful however the story focuses more on Adelaide’s private life in terms of the impact her brother had on her and her general demeanour and attitude to relationships. This is told on a very simple level but also features scenarios in which certain situations might have played out, it’s easy to determine which is the continuing story however the alternate scenarios feel like a pick your own path story which ends up going nowhere which for me detract to the story rather than add to it. There’s a good degree of thoughtfulness to this, it’s definitely approachable for teens but the alternate worlds just didn’t work for me. 5/10

By taleah If you could live your life again, what would you do differently? That is a question most people most likely have thought about. If someone asked me to describe Again Again in three words, I'd say it's simple but complicated, and really unique. It is the story of 17-year-old Adelaide. Her younger brother is an opioid addict and she has moved away from him and her mother with her father to a boarding school where he is teaching. She has just broken up with her boyfriend, she is in danger of being kicked out of school and she is not loving life much at the moment. It is the summer holidays and she meets Jack while out dog walking. I enjoyed Adelaide and Toby's relationship - it was heartbreaking, pure, and real. I love reading about complex sibling relationships and I expected this to be more focused on the love interest mostly but I'm glad it didn't though. Adelaide seemed a little too much in love with each and every boy she met and maybe that is the point of young love but it made her come off as desperate and annoying.

I really loved the concept of this book and when I read the first glance, I had to read it. The writing style was quirky and it made me think of it hitting the YA genre and style of writing (which I like). It took me a while to get into the book because I read it during lockdown and at times my mind wandered to other things (not because I didn’t like the book because I did)and the repeating of events made me question if I was at the right part. However, once I got used to the style of writing, I really enjoyed reading the different options and outcomes. It really hammers home how important our words and actions are, as it can affect people and events. I really liked how multi-faceted Adelaide was and how each varied scenario made the reader see a different side to her. Each one being one that the reader could relate to and empathise with. It’s definitely a book to get you thinking and worth a read!
