Reviews: Again Again (28)
“Beautiful”
(Paperback)

Again Again is beautiful and poignant exploration love. Be it learning to love others or yourself and the forms love can take, the highs and the lows and how it shapes you as a person.
“Lockhart works her magic again”
(Paperback)
by Rhiannon
(Copy provided on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review) ‪A mind-bending, chaotic, sad, romantic and desperately beautiful book. I love Lockhart’s writing and the way it can be so simple yet devastating. ‬ I went into this book knowing nothing about it and was captivated by the first page. Lockhart manages to take a complex idea (multiverses) and turn it into an engaging and beautiful story. The relationship between Adelaide and Toby was heartbreaking to read but felt so true to life. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this!
“Beautifully written and insightful”
(Paperback)
by The Martins
I read this book in a few sittings. As with We Were Liars, the prose is beautiful and sometimes you can stop to reread a section just because it sounds so great! There were also some really insightful thoughts on the way we love others and how we expect them to love us back. It had a few twists which made me feel emotional too. Overall, this book really resonated with me because of the way it explored complex and sometimes unflattering emotions. Definitely worth the read if you like a reflective, poetic writing style and aren't looking for an atypical plot.
“Sweet-sad rom com told in a new way”
(Paperback)
by Noody
This is a sweet-tinged-with-sad rom com with an intriguing, playful narrative structure. It takes a moment to get the hang of what's going on (no spoilers) but it's a pleasure to read a story told in a new way. There are some great dog characters in this book, as well as quirky humans.
“Emotional Rollercoaster”
(Paperback)
by Hazel Tyson
It's very sad to see that the children addicted to drugs and alcohol are getting younger and younger as the years go on, and that the pressures of our current world are the main influences, and disgusting of all, is how readily available these products are! Adelaide is experiencing heart break and family trauma because her brother is a recovering and sometimes relapsing addict. And her love life is just all over the place. To top that off she desperately needs to buckle down at school if she wants to get anywhere in life. Her actions are that of a typical teen, trying to understand the conflicting emotions she has running around her body. Her process of thought is a little all over the place but inevitably Adelaide gets there. This story was good, a fast read, and quite relevant in todays society. I would not want to be a teenager again, again.
