Reviews: ADHD Unpacked (4)
“Clear and accessible”
(Paperback)
Written by two people with a science background, this is an extremely informative and useful book about ADHD, with short chapters and concise paragraphs, resulting in a positive reading experience.
Conner and Brown aim to dispel the myths often associated with ADHD. As they were both diagnosed as adults and use real life examples, this lends an authenticity that makes it relatable.
Highly recommended, not only for people who may be researching for themselves, but also for those who want to understand more in general.
“Funny, educational and engaging”
(Paperback)
This is the first book my partner has ever read all the way through about ADHD, so it’s clearly perfect for those with ADHD. As a partner, I also found it incredibly informative and helpful. Whether you have ADHD or know someone who does, this is a must-read! The humorous, easy-to-read tone makes it engaging and enjoyable, yet it’s still full of wisdom and well-researched insights.
“Informative, well written and easy to understand.”
(Paperback)
If you have, think you have or would just like to better understand ADHD, then finding reliable information can difficult. Either because the source is bias, misinformed or sometimes just difficult to interpret.
This book is none of that.
Well researched -with a full list of references for all studies and information, included- and laid out in easy to navigate chapters with a comfortable lay out.
This book wrote about aspects of ADHD that I hadn't even been made aware of by the medical professionals that gave me my own diagnosis.
It delivers everything in an unbias, open way that doesn't leave a negative feeling, even when handling difficult or delicate aspects of living with ADHD.
Highly recommended read with detailed but not overwhelming information.
“Invaluable guide to ADHD in adults”
(Paperback)
An explicit and clear guide to being an adult with ADHD. From James Brown and Alex Conner who have been running a podcast around this subject.
The personal journeys are interesting and relatable. There are science based facts and some great myth busting of misconceptions and misinformation that people may pick up from social media.
Invaluable to understand any friends or relatives with ADHD. Some great tips for coping and shining a light on where emotions are involved.
As I am not neurodivergent, the writing doesn’t flow in a way I can absorb easily, this book is really for people with neurodivergence, but it is incredibly useful and packed with relevant information and insights.
Really interesting and if you know anyone with ADHD this would be a wonderful help. This is a fascinating subject and great to get some clarity.
Thank you to NetGalley for the informative and very interesting read.
