Reviews: Ada's Rules (7)
“Bold and beautiful...”
(Paperback)
by Emma Smith at Bedford
I loved this book! It's spicy, strong and fierce just like it's female lead, Ada. Wife of a preacher, Ada's life is busy, busy busy and that leaves little time for herself. So when an invite to a school reunion arrives with a wink from an old flame, she decides enough is enough and embarks on some big changes. Inspiring, funny and saucy I loved being on Ada's journey with her. And may even use of few of her 'rules' myself!
“A wonderful and warm story.”
(Paperback)
by Tuija at Kingston Bentall Centre
Ada Howard has a lot of people to take care of. There’s her husband, of course, who is the preacher at Nashville’s Full Love Baptist Tabernacle and the Tabernacle’s flock; the kids at her day care centre and their parents; her two grown daughters; her own ailing parents and her husband’s aging mother. No wonder she has no time for taking care of herself and with her husband increasingly busy with the Tabernacle, she is starting to wonder that some other woman might be taking care of him. Then she receives an invitation from her old college flame to attend their 25-year college reunion in a year’s time and she decides that it is high time to take care of herself, and change her body and her life. She starts by making up the first of her rules – Don’t keep doing what you’ve always been doing. The resulting journey is a delight to read. Ada is a strong and independent woman, and her story is inspiring, warm and funny with a healthy dose of sauciness thrown in!

Having struggled and failed with losing weight all my adult life it was very easy to relate to. Found myself thinking 'oh I've done that' or that one of the ideas was worth trying. Enjoyed the book very much
“A surprisingly good read”

A self improvement book in small, easily digestible, chunks. Ada's rules charts a journey that every woman can relate to.
“New year new you?”

A joy to start 2013 with and very probably the best way to motivate any changes you've been putting off.
