(Paperback)
Bliss!!! The latest heartfelt book from Alex Brown!! Brilliant, gorgeous and perfect summer reading!!
In two timelines spanning the early 1950's to the present day. Granny Rose is in sheltered housing with her friends from the knitting circle in Tindledale, but she is losing her memory and forgetting who is who in her life. When her granddaughter Maddie visits, Rose is distressed and asking for Audrey who no-one has heard of! When Maddie is sent to Italy for a work assignment, she has a holiday in Capri and discovers so much more about her beloved Granny.
Full of romance, heartbreak, love, glamour, family secrets and more.
The descriptions of Capri were amazing, I could feel the heat and smell the citrus and herbs!!
Read this one way too quickly as I was so hooked into the story!!!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read early. Loved it, and highly recommended!!
“Uplifting read”
(Paperback)
This was a wonderful story about budding photographer Maddie who is given the opportunity to work on a fashion photo shoot in Italy just after she realises that Capri may help her discover her grandmothers past and ease her failing mind in the present. Maddie is at a interesting stage in her life where she’s embarking on a new career and recovering from the break up of her long term relationship and slowly understanding more about herself. Her grandmothers story is equally glamorous and heartbreaking and the island of Capri is a stunning destination. The other characters and great and I enjoyed the dual time frames of now and back in the 1950s, this has a lot of depth but is a very warm-hearted read and is very uplifting. 9/10
