Reviews: A Paramedic's Diary (5)
“A Paramedic's Diary”
(Paperback)
Great book and brilliantly written. As a fellow paramedic, I can relate to virtually every aspect of what Stuart has written about. This is an honest account of what a life is like on the front line of the NHS. If anything he has held back on describing some of the more horrible situations so the squeamish should not be put off. It conveys the emotional impact felt as a result of great successes, tragic losses and everything in between.I may be a little biased since I had the pleasure of going to university and working with Stuart but that also means that I can confirm that he is an excellent paramedic and a very good person. When he talks about patients with such affection, it's cause he really does care.

The first reviewer obviously has no clue. About anything, really. What does a literary attack on the author achieve? Really the clue to the content is in the title, and he should have known. This book is fantastic and written in a witty fashion with dashes of humility and frustration, that grip you and make you want to read from start to finish in one go. Stuart obviously cares about his job and his patients (and also the state of social decline in this country), and this is something that shines through from the very start.I would highly reccomend this book to anyone who has an interest in what things are like on the "other" side of the blue lights, or anyone with a sense of humour about life in general. This book evokes so many emotions, that really it should appeal to a wide audience anyway.

Excellent book. Reading it made me gasp, sick, angry, laugh out loud. It's a window onto a world that most of us don't see or just ignore. Stories from the front line of the NHS, tales of the ill and injured, drunks, druggies, time wasters and the just plain stupid. Well worth a read, just like his blog.

You will be a better person for reading this book. It is such a fantastic read and really gives an in-depth insight into what a Paramedic actually does. It will have you hanging off your chair in suspense, laughing out loud and almost making you cry. Its gory but tasteful.I would rccommend this book to EVERYONE. Please read it and then give it 5*. Once you read the book you will see that the author (paramedic) sounds like such a sweet chap so i want him to do brilliantly well with this brilliant book!!!!!Ps - Wayne Wild - When Stuart comes to your rescue..I would like to see you tell him 'to get over himself'.
