From setting the scene to describing an action, each section focuses on a different skill for your child to focus on, gradually building up to the very end where your child can write their own story.

If your child gets stuck "talking point" boxes will spark new creative ideas or help children get the story started. "Word boxes" help develop kids vocabulary and enhance their story. Plus, there's plenty of drawing inside too, including a space to illustrate your own personalised book cover.

Your child will be able to master writing skills required by the national curriculum in The Write Your Own Book Book, including recounting events and persuasive writing.
