World Guide to Special Libraries

Incorporating virtually every type of special library -- from medical libraries to independent archives focusing on a single discipline, such as music or art -- the World Guide to Special Libraries categorizes nearly 40,000 libraries in 192 countries under 800 subject headings. The range of subjects runs from major disciplines such as law, engineering, and history to more unusual and highly specialized topics such as AIDS, timber, and mountaineering.

In addition to addresses (both conventional and electronic), fax, and phone numbers, details of all holdings, special collections, and memberships are provided. Listings are arranged by subject, then alphabetically by country, and then by library. Additionally, the Index to Libraries in Volume 2 cumulates all libraries worldwide in a single alphabetical sequence with references to the main entry number.
