Trauma-related research is increasing as new knowledge regarding the cellular and molecular response to injury has been applied clinically and has improved the survival rate of victims. This book addresses the problems of trauma on cellular and molecular levels, reflecting an abundance of new information concerning immune cell responses to injury, cytokine responses and problems caused or exacerbated by reperfusion, nutritional and metabolic factors.
