Synopsis

Ireland's cultural leader in the Eighteenth Century, Lord Charlemont, James Caulfield, 1st Earl of Charlemont, is remembered for having built the architectural masterpiece, the Casino at Marino and Charlemont House, both in Dublin. He embarked on a Grand Tour from 1746 to 1754 during which he spent time at The Hague and a year in Turin.
