The Pill

The Pill was first made widely available in 1961, and is still the subject of much controversy. Now in its 4th edition, this handbook has been designed both for the modern woman using the Pill and health professionals involved in family planning. It has been revised and updated to contain recent information on the Pill's connection with cervical, breast and ovarian cancer, the effects of the latest formulations on the body's chemistry, the impact of sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS, and research into new hormone methods, such as injectables, vaginal rings and skin implants.
