The Missing Year
Synopsis
Fiona’s life is chaos. A single parent doing her best to raise two children and further her career, she often feels like she’s screwing up both things in equal measure. In the flat next door, Dev’s experience is one of controlled loneliness. Apart from his cat, he’s managed to stay distant from any meaningful relationship since his last girlfriend left. But when a good deed leads to a thank you and a bottle of wine, the two semi-strangers end up, unexpectantly, in Fiona’s bed.
Waking the next day, they discover life has radically changed. Dev’s belongings now vie for space with Fiona’s, the cat’s acting like it belongs next door and – hardest of all for Fiona to cope with - the kids are treating Dev like he’s part of the furniture. The two soon learn they’ve lived an entire year since the night they slept together, with neither party having any memory of the events between then and now.
As the new couple piece together the year they’ve lost, they start to see past their surface-level differences and find reasons why they might have fallen for each other in the first place.
