Synopsis

Irishman John Woods spent a year and a day visiting all 58 of the world's Test cricket grounds in order to research this book. In that time the number increased from 56 to 58 as Australia added Cairns and Darwin to their list. And he added one of his own by visiting Sharjah. He saw 16 Tests and 48 one-dayers although he did not watch cricket at Peshawar because of the security situation when South Africa refused to play and Dehli because the ground was a building site. On his trip to compile the material for this book - 175,000km and 72 flights as well as crossing India by train - he met many great characters and has many wonderful stories. He details the history and statistics for each ground, gives an outline of the cities they are in and recommends places to eat, drink, stay and visit. There book contains advice on travel and the emergency services as well. This is the book for the dedicated cricket fan who wants to watch his country do battle overseas. John Woods also took the photographs of each ground to make sure that fans have the best possible information before they set off.
