T-force
Synopsis
With six years of war coming to an end in 1945, Churchill saw the need for an elite British force to be sent into enemy territory to ensure Nazi technology was kept out of Russian hands. The unit that he formed was codenamed T-Force. T-Force was to work undercover and beyond the normal rules of war. Among its successes was the securing of a vast underground aircraft factory, the capture of radar development facilities as well as the world's most advanced submarines and V1 and V2 rocket factories. Many scientists and technicians, including Werner von Braun (essential in the Cold War space race) and Dr Helmut Walter (the later inspiration for Ian Fleming's "Moonraker"), were also secured. Through interviews with one-time members of T-Force, historian Sean Longden reveals the last completely untold story of the Second World War - a stirring account of espionage, courage and what really happened in Germany at the end of 1945.
