Structural Dynamics: Recent Advances

This book contains some new developments in the area of structural dynamics. Its contents include theoretical aspects as well as practical applications and the text is intended for the use of students and researchers as well as practising engineers. The book concentrates on four main areas - load modelling, with particular emphasis on earthquake and wind-loading, structural response analysis, computational reliability procedures and on practical applications. These include the dynamic analysis of liquid storage tanks under earthquake excitation, the dynamic analysis of the blast procedure for tunnelling, the design and analysis of tall, slender industrial chimneys under wind-loading as well as the analysis of containment structures of nuclear power plants under earthquake conditions.
