Still struggling to come to terms with his Falklands nightmare, RAF pilot Sean Riever transfers to helicopters and heads for the remote mountains of Afghanistan. His work there with the mine-clearance teams takes him as close to the shadow of war as he wants to get.

But when a British Airways passenger plane is shot down by a stinger missile over the east coast of America, the ghosts of a past conflict return to haunt him once more.

Disguising himself as the enemy and hiding in the rocky mountains to outwit the terrifying Taliban regime, Sean risks everything he has learnt to care for to prevent an infinitely greater tragedy.
