A common perception is that software measurement is a complicated system activity. A corresponding perception is that practitioners in software engineering might not be able to adopt and use all measurement. Addressing this problem, Software Engineering Measurement and Analysis presents a coherent and comprehensive framework of a software engineering measurement system (SEMS) and a software engineering measurement expert system tool (SEMEST). Based on the author's research experience, the book explores the most comprehensive set of SEMS with more than 400 measures and metrics. Each measure in the SEMS framework is rigorously described by formal definitions, formulas, units, and application examples.
