Pre-eclampsia

Pre-eclampsia is one of the most common and most dangerous complications of pregnancy, affecting more than 50,000 women a year in the UK alone. Having described a normal pregnancy, the authors explain pre-eclampsia from its recognizable symptoms - high blood pressure, swelling, and protein in the urine - to associated physical and emotional reactions. Identifying those who are thought to be most at risk, the book also contains numerous case histories and advice on how to cope with the condition.
