Prayer: The Work of the Spirit

How can we pray when life is so busy, and why should we? In this talk, originally given to a group of young mothers, Sister Edmée maintains that the first step is to stop and to decide that, for however short a time, prayer is the most important thing. We may then find that God is asking of us a further difficult surrender - even in our well-meaning efforts to pray, we may be trying to do too much ourselves. Instead, we are being asked, like the Mother of Jesus, to open ourselves to the activity of God in us, to the work of the Spirit.
