MIRROR MIRROR
Synopsis
Mirror Mirror is a project that explores our relationship to images, reflection, and involuntary staging through a collection of photographs sourced from second-hand selling platforms. The artist’s protocol is simple: contact sellers and ask them for an image of the mirror they are offering for sale.
This seemingly innocuous request introduces a constraint: to produce an image of the mirror while avoiding, as much as possible, any reflection in the glass.
Sellers then develop strategies of avoidance—sometimes skillful, sometimes absurd, often marked by ingenuity or awkwardness.
