Intermediate Algebra

This book takes a concrete approach to mathematics (as opposed to a conceptual approach). What separates this text from the competition is how much emphasis is placed on problem solving (including relevant applications) and the extensive learning aids incorporated to help the students. The book takes a problem solving approach using brief, precisely worded paragraphs followed by many detailed examples, and every section opens with an application problem integrated into the explanation and word problems and other motivational problems are included in every exercise set. There is a strong emphasis on graphics and on geometry concepts, and there is a multitude of exercises.
