Frieda Lawrence

Frieda Lawrence has until now been seen only as D.H. Lawrence's muse, mate - and harridan. This book reasseses Frieda in her own terms, looking at her German childhood, her first marriage, her painful leaving of her three children, her years with Lawrence, her love affairs and the years after Lawrence's death in 1930. Illustrated with rare photographs, including some previously unpublished, this study includes extracts from Frieda's letters and writings, as well as the full text of her memoir of life with Lawrence, "Not I But The Wind".
