Explorations

The engagement of James Duffield's brother to the girl James thinks he loves, so hurts him emotionally, that a train of events starts which lead to an affair with a Boer girl in Cape Town, and then inevitably to a miserable marriage.
To escape from emotional turmoil and increasing debt he embarks on a long trek into dangerous, unexplored African lands, during which he discovers himself and finds riches, and true love, before the trek ends unexpectedly.
