Exiles

Claire is a young geologist working in Tunisia. Her partner sends her postcards from a damp, cold flat in London. John is Irish and the wrong religion. He is missing the way she messed up his life. She writes back, Tunisia is warm, full of the bright colours of the desert. The smell of rain on the dry earth. Claire doesn't mention Ali. She doesn't think John would understand.
