Electroweak and Strong Interactions: Introduction to Theoretical Particle Physics
Synopsis
Beginning with relativistic quantum mechanics, this work examines the phenomenology and the physics of fundamental interactions through a detailed discussion of the empirical fundamentals of unified theories of strong, electromagnetic and weak interactions. The minimal standard model of the fundamental interactions is developed and characteristic aplications are worked out. Possible signals of physics beyond that model and the theory of interactions of elementary particles probing complex nuclei are also discussed. Numerous exercises with solutions make the text suitable for advanced courses.
