Doncaster

An illustrated review of Doncaster's railway metropolis during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. It covers the East Coast main line through the Doncaster area including the station, Decoy yards and Carr motive power depot; the GC line from Warmsworth to Stainforth; the West Riding and Grimsby lines as far west as Fitzwilliam; other outlying railway stations; and the famous Plant locomotive works. The final chapter is devoted to more recent railways scenes. The book includes personal recollections by people who knew and worked on Doncaster's railways, maps, track layouts, observations, operating notes and instructions and short memories columns.
