Database Decisions: Briefings on the Management of Technology

This book offers an approach to the problem of understanding database technology. It covers well-established technologies, such as relational databases and databases for the PC; prominent emerging technologies, such as client-server, repository and object-oriented databases; and less familiar technologies, such as full text, hypertext, picture database and spatial database. The text chooses and arranges its technology knowledge by applying on fundamental criterion: how could this knowledge assist management decision-making?
