Cornwall, with its dramatic scenery, attractive harbours and scenic branch lines, has been drawing many of the best railway photographers since the dawn of railways. This large format photographic portrait focuses on the railways of Cornwall and their development over the past 30 years, and is a stunning record of the lines, and the attractive countryside and coastal areas through which they run. The book records the final years of BR operation in the county when, a distinct local identity - Cornish Railways - was fostered through to the period of Privatisation. It reflects the changing face of rolling stock used in the county, from the final years of the first-generation DMUs and the Class 50s through to the Voyageurs and second-generation DMUs that are used today. Over 140 dramatic and scenic photographs are included, all of which have detailed and informative captions.
